Summer in the Midwest

Decca had to complete an assignment on setting this week for an online class he is taking. I got such a kick out of his description of his time in Indiana last summer. It was quite different from our non-humid, bug-free zone here in California that it had quite an impact on him. Enjoy!

When you dive into the pool, you land on a spider. You swim, and swim, until a horsefly starts chasing you. You glide underwater, to find six beetles; you get out of the pool, and into the house. A surprise, it shakes, it scares a mouse; lightning struck it. And when you’re outside for the 4th of July, the fireworks chase you, and explode near your face; what a disaster.
